2025 RECIPIENT: JEFF BERRYMAN
In a community blessed with an abundance of truly fantastic baseball folks, Jeff Berryman stands out as a true “baseball man.” His contributions to the game and, especially, to baseball in the city of Lubbock, has been immense. Berryman’s journey began 27 years ago when he first stepped into coaching to guide his sons, Casey and Cody, instilling in them their lifelong appreciation for baseball. Along the way, his leadership not only shaped their success, earning numerous league and all-star titles, but was just the start of a long lasting mark he would be leaving on the local baseball community.
The same year Berryman stepped into coaching, he also took on the role of an umpire initially just to “help out” with Showcase Fall Ball. What started as a small act of service quickly evolved into a remarkable career behind the plate. Over the years, he has umpired everything from Little League tournaments and World Series games to high school and college baseball, proving that a true love for the game never fades, no matter the level. With decades of experience as a player, coach, and umpire, Berryman’s dedication to baseball has not only shaped his own legacy but has left a lasting imprint on the sport, one that will continue for years to come.
